Who are our facilitators?

Brayden Ainsworth
Mental Health Team Leader
Brayden is the Youth Mental Health Team Leader at Happiness Co and co-producer of Switched On. He is an experienced presenter with his workshops that run in collaboration with RAC, going to schools around Perth with the aim of sharing the importance of being more aware of your own, as well as others mental health, particularly as a young adult growing up in todays world.
“My purpose and passions are about seeing people become their true selves and develop a peak performance mindset that can overcome any obstacle they may face in all aspects of life”.
Gareth Shanthikumar
Co-founder Man-Up WA
Gareth has had his fair share of challenges in growing up and understanding what it meant to be a man, particularly transitioning from high school to the “real world”. Coming from an all-boys school in Perth, he was never formally taught how to deal with negative emotions, how to navigate healthy relationships, or how to help out a mate going through tough times.
It is for this reason that Gareth and his best mate Haseeb developed Man-Up, with the aim of empowering young men and redefining masculinity.
Since Man-Up’s arrival, they have held numerous peer-to-peer workshops within schools around Perth and regional WA, gaining attention from 7News and being crowned “Local Champions”, as well as winning numerous awards for their efforts.

Lexy McDonald
CEO and Founder of HerHelp
After being bullying and suffering through mental health issues in high school, Lexy sat down and decided to launch a social media app at 17 years old to help young women realise their potential.
4 years later, HerHelp is now worth over $2 million and is the #1 All-In-One wellness app on the Appstore, encouraging, guiding and supporting women of all ages to become the best version of themselves and chase what they are truly passionate about.
She has been awarded, and is the current WA Young Person of the Year for Innovation, and when she isn’t working on her app, she is working with her community to normalise good mental health and inspiring people to be their best selves.
Thomas O'Brien
Happiness Co Foundation Health Promotion’s Officer and Switched On Producer
Tom makes it to as many schools as he can with Brayden, but is more involved with planning Happiness Co events, coordinating collaborations with the likes of Oli Clothing and ColdNips, and producing content for Switched On’s socials and podcast.
Tom is in the Army Reserves and is completing his last year of Health Promotion at the University of Notre Dame. He is passionate about this pathway because he believes it is critical for everyone, from all walks of life, to get the chance to be educated on the importance of what it means to live a healthy and happy life in it’s many contexts.

Our Mission:
Switched On is a Youth Mental Health movement powered by Happiness Co Foundation.
We are here to not only change lives, but we are also here to save them.
1 in 5 young people will experience a mental illness each year. Many suffer in silence due to the stigma and lack of education around mental health.
Switched On is helping change this as we want to build a community for our emerging generations who are looking at belonging and contributing to something greater than themselves.
We uphold diversity, inclusivity and engagement, whilst encouraging people to learn more about themselves and the world around them, discover new perspectives, and participate in the fun things life has to offer!
