MOVE FOR HAPPINESS
SUNDAY 8TH OCTOBER 2023
7am-9.30am
City Beach
The Happiness Co Foundation and WPN Wear/SORA Active are excited to have come together in bringing you an awesome morning of wellness for mental health.
We all know that it’s been recommended to walk (or run) for at least 30 minutes a day in order to support our physical wellbeing. But what about walking or running for our MENTAL wellbeing?
Studies show that just 30 minutes of walking per day can help reduce stress and anxiety, lower the risk and symptoms of depression, improve sleep, help build resilience and coping, help distract from negative thoughts, improve memory and focus and improve sense of self.
Inspired by lived experience and a passion for mental wellbeing, this morning is all about showcasing and EMPOWERING you with the knowledge and activities to connect the dots and feel the benefits for yourself.
Here’s how the morning looks:
- 7am – 30 minute breathwork session lead by experienced facilitator, Shivani Shah
- 8am - 30 minute walk or run along the path (headed north) finishing back at the starting point. YOU get to set your pace! Find a buddy or a group who are on the same walk or run pace as you, or take that time to yourself. *We recommend setting a 15-minute alarm to signal you to turn back.
- 8.30am - optional dip in the ocean, or feel free to grab a tea/coffee – or do both! *You have the option of Hamptons, Odyssea and Clancy’s right there.
- 9am - Be inspired by the powerful stories of Brayden Ainsworth, Carla Thomas, and Mel King as they share their personal journeys of how physical activity has enhanced their mental wellbeing and contributed to their happiness.
We recommend you arrive 15 minutes earlier than the start time to allow for parking, allocating the correct grass area and getting settled.
*look out for the Happiness Co Foundation flags and set up to the left of Clancy’s.

Happiness Co Foundation
The Happiness Co Foundation has been built to improve lives. This is core to who we are and always have been.
Founded in 2020, the Happiness Co Foundation funds programs and initiatives that empower people to face their mental health battles and find happiness in their lives.
With a team of volunteers, we aim to spread happiness in the community through events, activations and support groups for anyone affected by mental health struggles.
We already see incredible results in communities through funding grants and deep partnerships with community organisations. As we look ahead, we know there is much more to do. That’s why in 2023, our impact will focus even more on Mental Health, people's happiness and the resources we can share. It’s time to take care of each other and start healing and rebuilding the health of our communities.
We have a mission to positively impact 10 million lives in 10 years and we are right on track to do so.

WPN Wear/SORA Active:
Move. Breathe. Connect.
We believe in a future where mental health is exercised as easily and routinely as physical health.
When we first founded WPN our mission was clear, we wanted to do more than just make great athletic apparel. Our goal was to create a culture shift by motivating and inspiring people to improve their lives and the lives of others on a more holistic level - physically, mentally emotionally.
Our mission is to reset social norms about speaking openly on emotional and mental challenges
By creating a space and a community for us to connect and grow stronger physically, mentally and emotionally that will inevitably cause a positive ripple effect around the world.
Every dollar spent with WPN and SORA (our sister brand supporting ‘sisterhood’) supports community well-being events called WPN and SORA Sessions, plus creative content to help lead more balanced lives, mentally, physically and emotionally.
